Marcel Breuer "Cesca" cantilever chairs for Knoll, set of six. Signed on the frame beneath the seat.
Three years after designing his iconic Wassily Chair, which is believed to be the first bent tubular steel chair design, Marcel Breuer created the Cesca Chair (1928). Named after his daughter Francesca, the simple design combines the Industrial Age aesthetic of tubular steel with upholstery or caning and wood. Stamped with the KnollStudio logo and Breuer’s signature, Cesca is manufactured by Knoll according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer.
This gorgeous set of six chairs includes two chairs with arms and four chairs without. Each chair sits on a chrome finished tubular steel cantilever base. The back and seat of each chair is padded and upholstered with a gorgeous abstract striped fabric in shades of beige, brown, gray, and black. The arms are also padded and upholstered on the armchairs. The chairs sit on plastic glides for easy moveability. A gorgeous and iconic set of chairs with industrial, retro charm.
