Lugano Candi seascape oil on canvas. Signed lower right.
Lugano was born in Sicily, Italy in 1948. He attended the Art Academy in Naples and later studied in Paris France for three years. In 1973 Lugano moved to NYC where he became the art director for a paper box company. In 1977 Lugano married and decided to try his hand at fine art painting. He began selling his oils in the NY area and soon he was able to have wide demand for his work all over the states. Lugano says that his years of study in Paris has enabled him to paint in the impressionist style and he feels that is the area in which he wants to expand. Luganos work has been exhibited in Montreal, Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles, and Houson.
This gorgeous, large seascape has a stunning, serene design. The deep blue water contrasts the cloudy light blue sky, alluding to a pleasant warm day. A group of women and children sit across the sand with large, colorful umbrellas. The impressionist style elevates the pleasant, almost dream-like quality of the piece. It is held in an ornate carved frame. A stunning work of art perfect to create a coastal focal point in any space.
