These two loyal terriers are biding their time in hopes of a little special attention from their master. This image was originally created by artist Herbert Dicksee as a handcolored engraving and has been framed in a beautiful black and gold moulding complements by a scraffito design in the liner.

Herbert Dicksee (1862-1942) came from an artistic family. He was a painter and etcher of animals and genre. His most popular etchings are of domestic animal scenes. He used his own dogs for many of these etchings to capture realistic emotions and actions.
