71,000,000 year old Ammonite from Magrath, Alberta, Canada. The ammonite features beautiful iridescent colors of green and red. There is a "Boulton" mark on the back side.  The fossil rests on a stand made specifically to hold the rare masterpiece of nature. Comes with the certificate of authenticity.

Note from the certificate of authenticity: "The fossil is a tightly coiled shell of an extinct squid-like nautilus creature. They were preyed upon by a crocodilian reptile called a mosasaur, which would sink its teeth into the ammonite's shell and extract the squid-shaped body, later devouring it. The punctured shell should slowly sink to the sea floor, where it would eventually be buried and crushed by tones of mud flowing in from a nearby river."

Measurements:

Fossil: 9.5"W x 2"D x 7.75

Stand: 4.75"W x 3.5"D x 1.5"H
