Framed lithograph sketch on paper of a nude couple by Auguste Rodin, (French, 1840-1917). Art features a sketched figural drawing of a couple intertwined in the nude with a thin blue sheet between. Signed in pencil and titled lower left. Writing in French at lower left reads "hommage a ma grande amie, judith cladel, 1911" translates to "dedicated tribute to my great friend, judith cladel, 1911". Numbered 7195 lower right.

Auguste Rodin, was a naturalistic sculptor born in 1840 in Paris. He began to draw at the age of 10 years old. During the 1860's he was entered into religious orders and paused his artistic career. He was a solider in the Franco-Prussian war, and also worked for Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse as an assistant architect. The Musee Rodin holds over 7,000 of his drawings and prints along with drypoints. He is most famously known for his sculptures like "The Thinker" and "The Kiss".
