Henredon "Dorothy Draper" bookshelf secretary, vintage 1960s. This gorgeous secretary was designed by Dorothy Draper for Henredon's Viennese collection. It features a bombe-style base and bookshelf top. The base sits on splayed feet and holds three drawers with gorgeously intricate brass pull handles, backplates, and escutcheons. Above the drawers is the drop-front secretaire unit that opens to reveal additional storage compartments, which include two drawers, a small cabinet, and six open pigeonhole storage areas. The bookshelf portion of the piece has two shelves that sit behind two curved brass wire mesh doors. The bookshelf has a beautiful bonnet top, whose curves further elevate the piece's charming shape. The bonnet top is capped with a plume form finial, which adds even more to the gorgeous ornamentation throughout. The piece has a subtle pale yellow finish with a light gold overglaze. An absolutely stunning piece with glamorous allure that's certain to elevate a space.
