James Abbott McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903) etching titled "En Plein Soleil" from the "French Set" collection. This set was Whistler's first published set of etchings. Set includes images from his travels in London, Paris, and Germany in 1858. Set was printed by Auguste Delatre at 71 Rue St. Jacques in Paris. Whistler is most noted as the artist of Whistler's Mother (1871) and Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket (1875).
