Bronze Sculpture of A Couple, After Adrien Etienne Gaudez (French, 1845-1902)
Classical bronze sculpture of a man and woman signed "Gaudez" on base. Sculpture seems to be depicting the man protecting the distressed woman from an outside force.
Gaudez focused on many subjects throughout his career and participation in the Paris Salon. Earlier work is Classical focused, while later work is part of the Art Nouveau movement. His notable sculptures are found in France of prominent French citizens.
